Keep Memories with Leather Journal
Recent studies suggest that you can significant reduce stress if you write down your thoughts and feelings for about fifteen minutes each day. Since I am constantly under stress, this bit of information prompted my husband to purchase a leather journal for me to use, and the gesture was greatly appreciated. In fact, I felt less stress once I opened the present to find the thoughtful representation of love and a caring.
While it is nice to be able to exercise my mind and unload my thoughts and feelings on a piece of paper, it is even nicer to be able to do it in style. The leather journal has a slightly weathered look that only real leather can present. The pages are lined with a delicate gold trim that adds a quiet hint of style and richness. There is a built-in book marker made out of soft, silky ribbon that brings the whole thing together.
The leather journal represents time to my self that I didn’t even know I could fit into my hectic day. Sometimes taking care of a toddler is overwhelming, with the feedings, tantrums and erratic sleeping habits that can run a mother ragged. When you add taking care of a home, making dinner and the endless piles of laundry, “me time” seems like a far off dream. Keeping a little time set aside for my leather journal provides me with the ever-so-valuable time to my self.
The beauty of the routine is that it only takes about fifteen minutes to accomplish. This minute amount of time that I dedicate to myself each and every evening makes all the difference in the world. I feel less stressed out after taking a few minutes to sort things out in my leather journal. The quality and beauty of the attractive book seems to add to my relaxation. So does the idea that someone cared enough to invest in it.
The time I share with the leather journal has become very valuable to me. Some would argue that someone who spends all day at a computer would be able to fit a fifteen minute “me” break into her daily schedule. However, writing on the computer is very different than writing things out by hand. I also like the idea of having the book as a keepsake. It functions like a regular diary with a less juvenile aura about it. There is nothing more promising than a blank page in a leather journal.
